About Elska San Francisco (California):
This issue was made in San Francisco, arguably the world's most legendary gay city, which at last gets the Elska treatment. That means introducing a cross-section of ordinary guys from this city's diverse LGBTQ community and presenting them through a combination of honest, intimate photography and personal storytelling. Whatever you know or think you know about queer life in San Francisco, here you'll get a taste of what SF guys are really like and what living here is all about.
Inside this second edition of ‘Elska San Francisco’ you'll meet ten local boys, four of whom weren't part of our original first edition. All our SF boys were shot in their neighbourhoods and in their own homes, dressed in their own style and sometimes not dressed at all. Some of the men you'll meet include:
Adam N, who talks about what led him to restart his life in San Francisco and why it was the best decision he ever made;
Dawn T, who shares a key moment from his school days of standing up to homophobia from a teacher;
E C R, who takes us along on a journey of the excitement of new love, including private jets, blackjack in Vegas, and hotel bed luxuriating;
Victor T, who opens up about his feelings regarding getting older, and whether the intense nostalgia for his past life is spoiling his ability to enjoy his current life;
Sean T, who tells us about his commitment to widen his world via a resolution, a 'year of yes'
‘Elska San Francisco’ features ten chapters, dedicated to the following local participants: Adam N, Wesley F, E C R, Kramer E, Victor T, Dawn T, Jake T, Sean T, Levi B, and Jessie F.
We also recommend ordering the companion zine ‘Elska Ekstra San Francisco’, available separately, to get hundreds of pages of additional content. This includes five more Bay Area boys for whom there wasn't room in the main mag: Art S, Kevin L, Scotty S, Tal M, and Zee L. And then you'll get bonus outtakes of some of the lads you met in Elska San Francisco as well as a special feature on how we chose our cover art.
